Aloha from the Islands! Welcome to this conversation.
Introduction -
I create art from natural elements, collecting fallen leaves, dried flowers, and tree byproducts like sturdy cardboard and brown paper bags. These materials excite me with their potential for recycling and repurposing. I feel called to discover and express their hidden potential.
Working with these natural materials feels like a partnership where we exchange energy and ideas, resulting in unique creations. The process is almost trance-like. Communicating with nature—leaves, trees, water, and breeze—is a true delight for me.
Exploring the Process
When I gather these materials, I see more than just discarded items. I see stories waiting to be told, new forms waiting to be discovered. A fallen leaf, a dried flower, or a piece of cardboard each has its own unique character and history. My job is to unlock that story, to give it a new life and purpose.
The process of creating art from these natural elements is deeply meditative. As I handle each piece, I feel a profound connection to the natural world. It's as if the materials and I are communicating on a different level, exchanging energy and inspiration. This dialogue shapes my creations in unexpected and beautiful ways.
Sustainability and Creativity
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the sustainability it promotes. By repurposing natural materials and everyday objects, I am contributing to a more sustainable way of living. Every item has more to give, more beauty to share, and through recycling and repurposing, we can unlock that potential.
This approach to art also challenges me to think creatively. How can a piece of cardboard be transformed into something beautiful and functional? What new life can a dried flower take on? These questions push me to explore new techniques and ideas, constantly evolving my artistic practice.
A Labor of Love
My creations are not just art pieces; they are expressions of love and respect for nature. Each piece is crafted with care, rooted in a deep appreciation for the natural world. When you look at my work, I hope you see the passion and dedication that goes into every detail.
I want my art to inspire others to see the beauty in the everyday, to appreciate the potential in the things we often overlook. By taking care of our surroundings and finding creative ways to reuse materials, we can make a positive impact on the environment.
I hope you find joy in my creations, knowing they are rooted in love. Take care of yourself and your surroundings!
